FORT WORTH, TX – Fort Worth firefighters quickly contained a fire at a historic home in the Crestline area on Tuesday afternoon, preventing major damage and ensuring no one was hurt.
Just after 2:30 p.m. on January 6, the Fort Worth Fire Department Alarm Office received multiple reports of a house fire in the 1800 block of Western Avenue. Engine 18 arrived on scene in less than a minute and found smoke coming from the eaves of the two-and-a-half-story wooden home.
Crews worked swiftly, opening the first and second floors and the attic to access fire hidden in the void spaces. Containing the flames and preventing spread through the large, historic home was critical. The fire was under control within 20 minutes…
