‘The Oldest Tradition In North Texas’: The Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo Returns This January

Known as the oldest tradition in North Texas, the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo is set to return this January! Kicking off January 16, FWSSR will feature over three weeks of rodeo entertainment, Western celebrations, carnival delights, and more. When is the 2026 Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo

The FWSSR 2026 runs from Friday, January 16, through Saturday, February 7. The grounds regularly opens at 8 am daily, though carnival and exhibit hours vary by day.

Where is the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo

The FWSSR takes place across multiple venues. The primary venues for the rodeo performances will be the Dickies Arena, while the Will Rogers Memorial Center will host livestock competitions, exhibitions, carnival, and other festival signatures.

What to do at FWSSR

Stock Show & Livestock Competitions

At its core, the Stock Show is a premier livestock exhibition. From industry veterans to 4-H and FFA youth, breeders nationwide gather here to showcase their finest cattle, sheep, pigs, and goats.

Must-See Rodeo Events

The signature event of the season, FWSSR, brings weeks of nonstop action to the arena. Fans can catch a full circuit of professional competitions, including bareback riding, team roping, steer wrestling, and saddle bronc riding, showcasing the very best in traditional and contemporary rodeo sports. Additional rodeo events featured at the FWSSR PRORODEO Tournament at Dickies Arena include tie-down roping, barrel racing, breakaway roping, and bull riding aka the “most dangerous 8 seconds in sports”.

The PRORODEO Tournament runs from January 23 – February 7, with a $1.5 million purse on the line. Additional key rodeo events include:

  • Best of Mexico Celebración: January 18
  • Cowboys of Color Rodeo: January 19
  • Bulls’ Night Out: January 20 – 21
  • PRORODEO Rookie Rally: January 22

Concerts

Throughout the festival, FWSSR will feature a wide variety of regional artists and entertainers across multiple genres and stages. Concerts will take place at the Will Rogers Auditorium, Michelob Ultra Roadhouse, Dickies Arena, and The Corkyard. Admission to concerts are usually free with GA tickets. Key artists include Colter Wall, Bri Bagwell, and Don Diego among many others.

Carnival Midway

Get swept up in the non-stop action at carnival midway, home to thrilling rides, competitive games, and creative fair eats. Additionally, visitors can find a wide array of vendors selling all sorts of Western wares, crafts, and unique gifts. A FWSSR wouldn’t be complete without a few rounds through the carnival eateries where visitors can indulge in funnel cakes, corn dogs, and all sorts of fantastic fair food.

How to get Tickets to Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo

There are two main types of tickets you’ll need to consider are Grounds Admission and Rodeo Tickets.

Grounds Admission grants access to the carnival midway, livestock shows, exhibit halls, and museums. Grounds Admission are priced as follows:

  • Adults: $15
  • Seniors (55+): $8 (Fridays only)
  • Children (6-16): $8
  • Children (5 & under): Free
