A robbery near a south Fort Worth elementary school turned into a shootout Thursday evening, leaving two people injured and a person of interest in custody, according to police.
Officers were called around 7 p.m. after 911 reports of a robbery and possible shooting near Hubbard Heights Elementary in the city’s Southside neighborhood. Early accounts from the scene describe an exchange of gunfire between two groups, and both robbery and shooting detectives were dispatched as the case unfolded.
