An elderly man found in a Colleyville pond on Sunday has died, according to local officials. The 78-year-old, identified as Barry Alldredge, was discovered unresponsive in a pond after police and firefighters were summoned to a residence in the 5000 block of Fry Lane around 10:30 a.m.
The initial call was made by Alldredge’s wife, who required assistance after her husband had fallen in the back pasture and was unable to get up, WFAA reports. Responders assisted the caller and subsequently found Alldredge in the pond, unresponsive, during a period of freezing temperatures.
Alldredge was transported to a local hospital in critical condition but has since passed away. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed the man’s identity and his critical state following the incident.
