Where to see the Buddhist monks’ ‘Walk for Peace’ in Henrico Feb. 3

The Walk for Peace pilgrimage – a 2,200-mile journey for a group of Buddhist monks based in Fort Worth, Texas – will pass through Northern Henrico County Feb. 3.

It will be the 101st day of the walk, which began in Fort Worth in October and will end in Washington, D.C. next week.

The monks, led by 44-year-old Bhikkhu Pannakara, are walking to promote peace, compassion and nonviolence. They are based at the Huong Dao Vipassana Bhavana Center in Fort Worth and count among their ranks monks from Virginia, Kentucky and various countries, including Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and India…
