Fort Worth, Texas – Wind gusts topping 20 mph combined with humidity levels near 15 to 20 percent could spark fast-moving grass fires along I-35W and US-287 through 7 p.m. Thursday, putting drivers and neighborhoods west of the interstate on alert.

According to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth, a Red Flag Warning remains in effect for Young, Jack, Montague and Cooke counties until 7 p.m. Thursday. Temperatures climbing into the upper 70s and near 80 degrees across North Texas, including the Dallas-Fort Worth area, are drying vegetation rapidly.
