Civic leaders, developers, real estate people, and the intrigued gathered under a white tent Thursday morning to mark the groundbreaking of Westside Village.
They’ve been moving dirt and excavating here for a bit, but soon this piece of property on the corner of University Drive and Westside Drive — that’s Westside Drive now, old-schoolers — will be transformed into a destination for living, working, and playing — a dynamic hub of offices, retail, hospitality, and housing.
In total, it’s an ambitious $1.7 billion mixed-use development on the edge of the Cultural District that will be built out in four phases and ultimately completed in 2035…
