A historic North Texas farm is about to be bulldozed, making way for a sprawling residential, retail, and office development.
Shivers Farm—a 40-acre mixed-use community planned in Southlake—has plans to break ground on at least eight projects this September, according to numerous recent filings with the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration (TDLR).
Filings estimate more than $20-million will be spent on roughly 110,000 square feet of commercial and retail space spread between seven shell buildings, with an additional $9.3 million dedicated to site improvements like drainage and sewer. Construction is expected to last about a year.
The development will also feature 38,000 square feet of office space, 37 single-family lots and a 3-acre pad approved for hotel, entertainment or additional retail uses is also planned for the site, according to Trademark Property Company—the developer behind the project.
