Denton Man Sentenced to 10 Years in Federal Prison for Meth Trafficking Conspiracy

SHERMAN, Texas — A Denton man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for his role in a large-scale methamphetamine trafficking operation, according to U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs.

Brandon Lynn Hunter, 41, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine. U.S. District Judge Amos L. Mazzant III sentenced him to 120 months in federal prison on March 31, 2026.

According to court records, Hunter was identified in 2021 as a source of methamphetamine in the Denton area. A search of his residence in June of that year led to the seizure of more than 35 grams of methamphetamine along with drug trafficking paraphernalia…
