White Settlement police shared today photos of officers detaining two men they say were linked to a string of vehicle burglaries at nearby apartment complexes, turning what started as suspicious late-night activity into a pair of arrests.
The department says the incidents unfolded on March 1 at the Westlake Garden and Townhouse West apartments. One suspect was taken into custody at the scene, while a second was arrested days later in Fort Worth. Residents who reported the activity also handed over security-camera footage, which officers say helped them identify the two men.
According to the White Settlement Police Department, Officers Christopher Wiseman, Corporal Carlos Valladares and Officer Brian Leal first encountered the two men in the Townhouse West parking lot. When Officer Wiseman activated his red-and-blue emergency lights, one man stayed put and was detained, while the other ran, police said. That second suspect was later found in a gated backyard and taken into custody.
