Gas leak closes major Southlake road overnight, some Atmos customers remain without gas

SOUTHLAKE, Texas — Southlake Department of Public Safety says a vehicle crashed into a gas line on Southlake Blvd, causing a gas leak that lasted through the night.

In a Facebook post Wednesday night, the Southlake Department of Public Safety warned drivers that Southlake Boulevard would be closed between Shady Oaks Drive and North Peytonville Avenue. All lanes have since reopened, and Southlake police say traffic is improving in the area.

In a statement, Southlake officials said Atmos crews have responded to the scene. The crash caused a natural gas service outage to customers in the area, officials said. Atmos Energy is communicating directly with impacted customers…
