Among the dozens of Bay Area high school athletes headed downstate to Clovis for the CIF State Track and Field Championships are these 10 who might have the best chances to finish in the top three in their events.
1. Kira Gant Hatcher (St. Mary’s): The senior jumper is the defending triple jump champion but actually ranks fourth in the event (41-6) this season and is No. 1 in the long jump (20-7¾). She should come back strong from a so-so NCS meet.
