REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (KRON) — A pedestrian was hit by a car and killed Saturday morning while walking on Highway 101 just south of Whipple Road.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the crash around 4:42 a.m. Officers said a preliminary investigation determined that the pedestrian was walking and running in the lanes before the crash. A Mazda SUV was driving in the left most lane before hitting the pedestrian. It’s unclear what lead to the crash.
All northbound lanes were closed for about an hour following the crash and have since reopened…
