(KRON) — A shake alert lit up phones around the Bay Area Wednesday morning. The quake according to the alert, was located 117 miles away from San Francisco.

According to the United States Geological Survey, there was a preliminary magnitude 5.6 quake epicentered in Redwood Valley in Mendocino County. The quake occurred around 8:10 a.m.
A KRON4 viewer in Lake County who felt the quake said it was very long and lasted around seven seconds.
There were no preliminary reports of damages or injuries related to the quake, which was not felt in the KRON4 Newsroom. The National Tsunami Warning Center said there was no tsunami danger in connection to the quake.
The California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services said it was actively working with local officials to assess impacts of the quake. Governor Gavin Newsom’s office said that the governor had also been personally briefed on the quake…
