On to the City Council

I want to give a double high-four to all of you who contacted the City regarding its failure to even mention the animal shelter in its civic facilities report. Thanks to you, the shelter was not only included in the staff report that will be presented to the City Council this Tuesday, but the report changed the cost of a new shelter from around $26M to $68M due to the cost of special construction requirements for animal shelters.

Our next task is to be sure that the language of the bond measure clearly states that a portion of the bond money will be used to build an animal shelter. Everyone needs to contact the City Council and tell them that your support for the measure depends on having that language appear on the ballot.

The easiest way to do that is to send an email to Lara Weisiger, the City Clerk, at [email protected] indicating that you want to have the bond measure include language to say that a portion of the money raised will go to building a new animal shelter…
