Alleged gunman in Bay Area beach ‘takeover’ shooting arrested, police say

A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with a June shooting that wounded two people during a large beach “takeover” gathering in Alameda, police said Thursday.The Alameda Police Department said officers arrested the suspect Wednesday in Antioch with help from the U.S. marshals. An 18-year-old woman was also arrested on suspicion of being an accessory after the fact, authorities said.

Police did not release their names.

The arrests stem from a June 11 shooting near Robert W. Crown Memorial State Beach, where Alameda police and East Bay Regional Park District police were monitoring a large gathering along Shore Line Drive when they heard multiple gunshots. Officers found a juvenile and an adult suffering from gunshot wounds in the 300 block of Park Street, near the Lucky Strike bowling alley. Both were taken to the hospital for treatment, but authorities did not give any updates on their conditions…
