(KRON) — Walmart is set to launch electric vehicle charging stations at select California stores. According to a company spokesperson, Walmart EV charging is coming soon to six locations across California.
Two of those locations are in the Bay Area: Vallejo and Suisun City. The chargers will be located in the parking lot of the stores.

“Walmart is building a leading retail-integrated EV fast-charging network, focused on delivering an affordable, reliable and convenient charging experience where customers already shop,” the Walmart spokesperson wrote in an email statement.
Bay Area Costco gets approval to open gas station
Walmart’s EV chargers can charge up to 400 kWh and are compatible with CCS and NACS plugs. For Tesla vehicles, which make up the majority of California EV owners, the NACS plugs are compatible.
The spokesperson neither specified when the chargers would be ready for use nor how many chargers the Vallejo and Suisun City locations would have, respectively. Walmart said most sites will have between eight and 16 fast-charging stalls…
