Arrest made following deadly hit-and-run crash in Redwood City

Redwood City police arrested a man Wednesday after a fatal hit-and-run collision Tuesday evening.

Lazaro Gregorio Chacajlux, 32, of Redwood City, surrendered on Wednesday to police investigators, according to a police release. He was arrested and booked into the San Mateo County Maguire Correctional Facility on suspicion of felony hit-and-run resulting in death and gross vehicular manslaughter.

On Tuesday evening, a Jeep with a 36-year-old passenger was traveling south on Hudson Street when it was allegedly sideswiped by Chacajlux in a white Ford pickup truck, police said.
