WELLS, NV — Four people were killed and several others were taken to hospitals after a head-on collision on US 93 in Elko County, according to the Nevada Highway Patrol.
The crash happened late Monday morning near mile marker 79, about five miles north of Wells. Investigators say a southbound Honda Odyssey crossed the centerline while attempting to pass another vehicle, then lost control and struck a northbound Toyota Tacoma.
The force of the impact sent both vehicles off their paths and left the roadway closed to a major reconstruction response.
Victims identified by investigators
