CIM Group Snaps Up WeHo’s Domain as Its Bay Area Buildings Slide Toward Foreclosure

CIM Group is expanding its footprint in West Hollywood even as it works through mounting distress in the Bay Area. The Los Angeles-based real estate firm has purchased the Domain WeHo apartment community at 7141 Santa Monica Boulevard, according to a report from L.A. Business First, which did not disclose a price.

CIM acquired the 166-unit property in partnership with Hulic Company, buying it from RREEF Property Trust, the real estate investment arm of DWS Group. RREEF had owned Domain WeHo since 2019, when it paid more than $103 million for the property, The Real Deal reported at the time.

The seven-story building opened in 2017 with 9,000 square feet of ground-floor retail and the kind of amenity package that’s become standard for new construction in this stretch of the City — a gym, a pet wash, a sun deck with a pool, an outdoor kitchen, a fire pit.
