Some Bay Area leaders support a proposed California State Senate bill that would make it harder for manufacturers to sell high powered e-motorcycles as e-bikes.
The idea is to put pressure on manufacturers to correctly label e-bikes. If approved, Senate Bill 1167 would clarify that high-powered e-motorcycles cannot be designated as e-bikes and businesses would be in violation of false advertising laws if they inaccurately market e-bikes that don’t meet specific criteria.
