(KRON) — A City of San Jose worker suffered fatal injuries while he was repairing a streetlight Tuesday, officials said.
The victim was an employee of the city’s transportation department. He died while working to help “keep San Jose drivers and pedestrians safe,” a joint statement writes from Mayor Matt Mahan and other city officials.
“We are deeply heartbroken about his passing and grateful for his public service. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and his department teammates during this incredibly difficult time,” the statement continued.
