Cassandra Wilson, the Grammy-winning singer whose moody, instantly recognizable voice and adventurous choice of material helped redraw the boundaries of contemporary jazz, has died. She was 70.
Wilson died at her home in Jackson, Miss., surrounded by family, close friends and her longtime manager, Robert Torre, according to a statement Torre provided Wednesday, Sept. 2, to jazz radio station WBGO. No cause of death was announced.
