Family of Nvidia researcher disputes suicide ruling, petitions AG to halt cremation

Family members of a 32-year-old senior artificial intelligence researcher at Nvidia are pleading for state intervention, questioning authorities’ ruling that his death was a suicide and fighting to halt the scheduled disposition of his remains.

Irfan Al-Hussaini was found unconscious in his Palo Alto home in July and died eight days later. While authorities ruled the death a suicide, his family and close friends say the determination makes no sense, noting that the senior data scientist had delivered a professional presentation just hours before authorities were called to his residence.

“So he was fine. Everyone thought he did a good job. Everything seemed normal,” his sister said…
