Thousands of people out of custody while awaiting trial in Alameda County are at risk of losing services that keep them from re-offending, according to court staff.
Alameda significantly expanded its pretrial services in February, anticipating a flood of defendants who would be released from custody after a recent California Supreme Court decision.
