Waymo is offering Bay Area riders a new incentive to help integrate its driverless cars with public transit. Soon, passengers who use a Waymo and tap a Visa card to ride public transportation within two hours will get bus fare money as credit.
The program, announced on Tuesday, will initially be available to Waymo employees only, before it rolls out to the public in the coming weeks, the company said. The promotion applies to all 27 Bay Area transit agencies that accept contactless Visa payments.
