The search for Amy Hillyard, a Bay Area coffee shop owner who vanished after walking out of her Oakland home six months ago, will resume on Sunday after private investigators uncovered a new lead.
Hillyard, a 53-year-old mother of two, hasn’t been seen since March 25. Private investigator Steve Fisher, whom Hillyard’s husband Chris Hillyard hired about three months ago, told the Chronicle that his team performed “a full extraction” of Amy Hillyard’s digital devices using a new tool they developed in-house.
They found that the day before Hillyard, an avid hiker, went missing, she used her desktop computer to search the AllTrails website and looked at eight Bay Area hiking trails she had done in the past. While three of the trails were already searched extensively, Fisher said the other five, including some in Berkeley, were “new to us.”…
