At an August school board meeting, Chief Business Officer Charen Yu recommended the board of education cut $33 million in from its spending by the 2027-28 school year. Yu said if this potential deficit is not dealt with, the Santa Clara County Office of Education could get involved and take over control of the district’s budget.
Superintendent Jason Glass, though, said the $33 million amount is an early estimate that could change.
