(KRON) — Workday will be cutting over 140 Bay Area jobs as part of a recently announced plan to trim its tech team. In a filing last month with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the payroll and time-tracking software company announced plans to cut its global workforce by around 2.5%.
That amounts to about 525 total jobs, according to Workday’s most recent annual report, which states the company has 21,070 employees. Now it appears roughly a quarter of those job cuts are in the Bay Area.

According to a filing with the Employment Development Department, Workday is cutting 142 jobs at its Pleasanton headquarters. The Bay Area job cuts all appear to be in the company’s technology division.
