Monica Laso said she ‘felt very frustrated’ after getting stuck in the cable car overnight, forced to rub her hands and feet together to keep warm
A woman who went on a skiing trip in California last week said she couldn’t get help from resort workers after she was left stranded for 15 hours overnight on a gondola, according to a report.
Local NBC affiliate KCRA reported that Monica Laso, who had been visiting a Lake Tahoe area resort on Thursday, had to brave the cold as she sought help.
“I didn’t have a phone, a light, or anything,” Laso told KCRA.
She and her friends planned a skiing trip to the Heavenly Ski Resort in El Dorado County, California. It was her first time there, and at the end of the day on Thursday, she asked a worker if she could ride the gondola down a hill.
Laso said she was too tired to make it down on her own. The employee, with two minutes until the resort closed for the day, guided her to the gondola and let her take it down.
But when the clock struck 5 p.m., the gondola suddenly stopped moving, KCRA reported.
