In recent weeks, law enforcement agencies have made significant breakthroughs in combating home invasion and burglary rings in California, highlighting the effectiveness of multi-agency collaborations and sophisticated investigative techniques. These operations in the Bay Area and Ventura County have led to multiple arrests and the recovery of stolen property, shedding light on the organized nature of these criminal enterprises.
Bay Area Breakthrough
In a coordinated effort that underscores the importance of inter-agency cooperation, detectives from Fremont, in collaboration with the San Jose Police Department’s Air Support Unit, apprehended four suspects linked to a notorious burglary ring. This operation was the culmination of a detailed investigation into a series of home invasions and burglaries across several Bay Area cities, including Fremont, Union City, Milpitas, San Jose, and San Bruno.
The suspects, identified as Dejaun Mabon, Maurice Barrow, Shawn Wyatt, and Lawrence Barton, were caught during an ongoing residential burglary in Union City. Remarkably, the gang employed advanced techniques such as using a WiFi Jammer device to evade detection by disrupting home security systems. Following the arrests, searches at multiple locations connected to the suspects unveiled over $100,000 in cash and stolen items, alongside several firearms and ammunition.
