Residents in the San Francisco Bay Area and Monterey Bay regions can expect a tranquil start to the week as an area of high pressure dominates the weather pattern. According to the National Weather Service (NWS) San Francisco Bay Area/Monterey Bay Office, this Sunday and early next week will see calm and clear conditions, accompanied by chilly mornings.
The NWS reports that the high-pressure system will maintain its influence, resulting in peaceful weather throughout Sunday and into the early days of the upcoming week. However, residents are advised to brace for chilly mornings, with temperatures expected to persist at colder levels.
An update from the NWS on Sunday morning highlighted two immediate weather impacts for the day: fog and frost. Fog developed over the North Bay Valleys, with some areas experiencing dense fog, particularly near Hollister. Clearing of the fog is anticipated to be gradual due to light winds and the presence of passing high clouds.
Temperatures across the region mirrored the chilly start, with many locations showing temperatures near or slightly colder than the previous morning. The coldest temperatures were recorded away from the coast and urban areas, with some interior Central Coast spots registering in the upper 20s. A Frost Advisory remains in effect until 9 AM.
