On Friday, February 9, 2024, at approximately 9:31 p.m., Tracy Police Officer Silva received a crucial call from a fellow officer at Livermore Police Department concerning a recent carjacking incident within their jurisdiction.
Livermore PD had swiftly entered the vehicle’s information into the Flock Safety Automatic License Plate Reader (ALPR) database, which revealed that the stolen vehicle had been spotted in northwest Tracy.
This vital information was promptly shared with the Tracy Police Department Communications Center, enabling officers to respond with urgency.
Thanks to the collaborative efforts of Livermore PD and Tracy PD, officers were able to locate the stolen vehicle near Byron Road and Great Valley Parkway, police said.
Implementing strategic tactics, officers successfully deployed spike strips in the area, effectively bringing the vehicle to a halt on Byron Road north of Mountain House Parkway, police added.
Upon apprehending the vehicle, all four occupants attempted to flee from officers but were swiftly apprehended.
