REDWOOD CITY, CA — In a unanimous vote Tuesday, San Mateo County supervisors approved $2 million to support affordable housing for farmworkers across the county, with a focus on rural and agricultural zones like Half Moon Bay and Pescadero, the county announced.
Meeting in Redwood City, the Board of Supervisors launched a two-phase loan program to help farm owners rehabilitate and construct low-cost housing for their workforce. To qualify, farm operators must maintain below-market rents and house low-income farmworker families.
