Woman killed after suspected DUI driver crashes into San Jose tree

(KRON) — A woman was killed early Wednesday morning after the car she was riding in crashed into a tree in San Jose, according to the San Jose Police Department. The driver was arrested for DUI and vehicular manslaughter.

San Jose police responded at 1:50 a.m. to the 800 block of Tully Road on the report of a solo vehicle collision. Investigators said a blue 2015 Toyota sedan, occupied by a man behind the wheel and two women passengers, was traveling eastbound on Tully when the driver veered off the roadway while approaching Galveston Avenue. The car then slammed into a tree, according to police.

The two passengers were rushed to a local hospital, where one woman was pronounced deceased. The other woman’s injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening, according to authorities…
