(KRON) — A boy seeking to sell his luxury-brand sneakers online was shot at and had the shoes stolen while meeting up with two teenage suspects posing as buyers in San Jose, according to police. On Wednesday, the San Jose Police Department announced the suspects had been taken into custody.
The armed robbery occurred on the afternoon of May 21 in the 400 block of Saratoga Avenue, authorities said. During the meetup, one of the suspects brandished a firearm at the boy and stole two pairs of shoes he was attempting to sell. As the two suspects fled in a vehicle, one of them shot at the victim, police said. The boy was uninjured in the shooting.
Detectives investigating the case identified the suspects as a 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old boy. Police did not release the names of the suspects due to their age.
Both teen suspects were found and arrested on June 19 in San Jose. Police searches of their residences located a privately made firearm and recovered the stolen sneakers.
