Bay Area residents woke up to gray skies and drizzle, and that’s likely to continue through much of the week, according to the National Weather Service.
Dalton Behringer, a meteorologist with the weather service’s Bay Area office, said the drizzle is expected to be limited to higher-elevation areas and coastal zones — particularly along the Peninsula and in the East Bay hills — where conditions are moist and fog-prone. He told SFGATE, “You may have some areas toeing the line between heavy drizzle and light rain.”
According to the weather service’s forecast discussion, parts of the Bay Area recorded up to 0.06 inch of precipitation as of Monday morning, a result of a deep marine layer and strong onshore flow.
