San Jose homicide victim tried protecting woman from attack, friends say

SAN JOSE, Calif. (KRON) — A San Jose homicide victim was slain while he was trying to protect a woman from being attacked, according to the victim’s loved ones.

Raymond Orozco, 22, was stabbed to death outside of a downtown San Jose nightclub on July 19, sources said. Police said the stabbing happened just before 1 a.m. on South Second Street.

“In a true faith of character of what amazing person Raymond was, he died while trying to protect and stop a woman from being beaten,” a GoFundMe page states. “Raymond was a kind soul. Raymond was taken from us far too soon in a senseless act of violence that has left their family, friends, and community in shock and deep grief.”
