Redwood City: Police Nab Man With Domestic Violence Restraining Order After Alleged Assault

An 18-year-old East Palo Alto resident was arrested in Redwood City on Wednesday after allegedly assaulting a woman who had a domestic violence restraining order against him, according to police.

Just before 8:30 a.m., Redwood City Police began to get multiple 911 calls reporting that a man had jumped up onto the roof of an occupied car by Franklin and Monroe streets and was yelling at the driver. The man allegedly kicked in and shattered the windshield, then opened the driver’s door, forced the female into the passenger seat and drove off, according to police.

Another 911 call then came in reporting a woman’s screams coming from a car with a smashed-in windshield in the area of Roosevelt Avenue and Oliver Street…
