Mayor Barbara Lee is creating a new high-level city office dedicated to tackling the homelessness crisis in Oakland.
The “Office of Homelessness Solutions” will oversee the city’s work on encampments and shelters, and keep track of data — efforts that are currently carried out by different departments in the city — according to Lee’s announcement this week.
