Nearly $3K worth of musical instruments stolen from Dublin school: police

(KRON) — A music program at Dublin Elementary School is asking for the community’s help after dozens of instruments were stolen. According to the Dublin Police Department (DPD), the instruments were stolen from the school stage’s multi-purpose room.

The theft was discovered on Aug. 8 when a Dublin Elementary music education teacher conducted an inventory of the instruments, police said. Prior to that, the last inventory recorded was back in June.

The value of the stolen instruments totaled $2,750, according to the DPD. That included 25 Yamaha acoustic guitars valued at $100 each and five Makala ukuleles valued at $50 each.

A GoFundMe has been started to help raise money to recoup the stolen instruments. As of Tuesday afternoon, more than $3,000 has been raised…
