Regional: Hayward Man Arrested On Suspicion Of Early Morning Shooting In Oakley

A Hayward man has been taken into custody after a person was shot multiple times in Oakley early Wednesday morning, according to police.

At about 3:13 a.m., Oakley officers responded to a shooting in the 4800 block of Trenton Street where a man was found in front of a house suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. According to Oakley Police Chief Paul Beard, the man had just gotten out of his vehicle at his residence when he was shot. The victim was still receiving life-saving treatment at a trauma center as of Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

According to witnesses, the suspect took off in dark-colored Ford F-150 pickup truck. A Contra Costa County Sheriff’s deputy spotted a vehicle matching that description in the area of Knightsen and followed it until more units could arrive, Oakley police said…
