(KRON) — The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office found and seized 500 pounds of methamphetamine and arrested two men while serving a search warrant at a home on the 3000 block of Seven Trees Boulevard in San Jose on Sept. 26.
The bust, which is one of the largest in the region’s recent history, is part of an ongoing investigation into a drug trafficking organization operating in Sonoma County, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office said. During a search, sheriff’s K9 “Duke” led investigators to the stash.

“This significant seizure, believed to be one of the largest in Northern California in recent years, has undoubtedly made a substantial impact on the safety of our community,” the sheriff’s office said.
While serving the search warrant, detectives also pulled over a vehicle linked to the investigation. The driver initially stopped, the sheriff’s office said, but then led detectives on a car chase, which ended in a crash at a nearby intersection. The man then bailed out of the wreck and barricaded himself in a nearby home.
“The driver fled on foot and barricaded himself inside a nearby residence unrelated to him,” the sheriff’s office said. “The San Jose Police Department responded by establishing containment and securing an additional search warrant for the residence. Despite an extensive search, the driver was not located.”…
