(KRON) — Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) police are searching for a suspect after a shooting onboard a train Tuesday evening.

The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. on a northbound train heading toward Fruitvale Station in Oakland. Police said the 15-year-old victim was taken to a nearby hospital and is in stable condition.
“Preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect and victim were likely known to each other,” police said. “The incident caused minor delays to service, and the train was taken out of service and moved to another location for evidence processing.”
