The Bay Area Air District issued a Spare the Air alert for Tuesday, warning of unhealthy smog levels across the region.
It’s the second such alert of the year, following the first issued in late May.

The Santa Clara Valley was expected to have the worst air, with pollution levels ranked as “unhealthy for sensitive groups.” That means children, seniors and people with asthma or heart conditions are more likely to experience symptoms such as coughing, throat irritation or trouble breathing.
The East Bay was also expected to experience poor air quality, with conditions labeled “moderate to unhealthy,” while the South Central Bay will be only slightly better…
