Frank Somerville pleads not guilty to battery in 2024 alleged alcohol-fueled attack

Former KTVU anchor Frank Somerville on Monday pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor battery in an alleged attack on his girlfriend’s daughter at his Oakland home last year.

Alameda County Superior Court Judge Terry Wiley allowed Somerville to stay out of custody, on the condition that he stay away from the victim.

The case stems from an incident that resulted in Somerville’s arrest last November. Somerville’s girlfriend told Oakland police he was drunk and that she believed he was suffering a mental health episode, police said in court records.
