In a significant stride toward combating food insecurity, The SF Market has proudly announced the donation of 10 million pounds of fresh produce through its Food Recovery Program. Mayor Daniel Lurie, among other Bay Area elected officials, gathered to recognize this accomplishment, which marks a meaningful contribution to local families and individuals in need.
The initiative secures over 4,000 pounds of fruits and vegetables daily from market merchants; these items are then channeled to community-based organizations throughout San Francisco and the extended Bay Area.
