A former apartment manager in California is facing charges for allegedly stealing tenants’ identities to open credit cards in their names, authorities said.
The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office said detectives executed at a search warrant at a residence linked to a “major” case of identity theft and credit card fraud, and found “ledgers” containing the victim’s personal information.
The suspect, who was not immediately identified by authorities, was described as a former apartment manager, and investigators say she used her position to access tenants personal information. She allegedly used that data to create fake identifications, email addresses and phone numbers in order to fraudulently apply for credit cards in their names…
