3.5 magnitude earthquake reported near Vallejo

A 3.6 magnitude earthquake jolted Bay Area residents on Thursday afternoon.

According to the United States Geological Survey, the earthquake’s epicenter was 2.5 miles south of Vallejo. It struck around 12:41 p.m.

Residents in Benicia, Martinez, Richmond and Pleasant Hill also reported strong shaking that lasted several seconds.

Grace Patterson Elementary School in Vallejo appeared to sit at the quake’s epicenter, according to USGS data. Officials for the school did not immediately return phone calls or emails…
