Bay Area police recover weapons, drugs and fake cash during search of stolen vehicle

Officers arrested a suspect after recovering a stolen vehicle containing weapons, drugs and counterfeit cash, according to the San Jose Police Department.

Police found the driver with an unregistered, loaded firearm and a large quantity of narcotics Friday after locating the stolen vehicle near Capitol Avenue and McKee Road, the department said. They also found ammunition, drug paraphernalia, stolen bank cards, counterfeit currency and burglary tools, police said.

Officers recovered the stolen vehicle and booked the suspect, who was wanted on a parole violation, into jail, the police department said. Police did not release the suspect’s name or further details on the arrest…
